The Story: County Gutters Completes Major Refurbishment at Blind Veterans UK, Rustington
County Gutters has successfully completed a major refurbishment project for Blind Veterans UK at their new beachside premises in Rustington, West Sussex. Awarded the contract by Fowler Building Contractors of Horsham, the project involved a full-scale renovation after Blind Veterans UK moved from their previous facilities in Ovingdean. As specialists in bespoke aluminium installations, County Gutters was the obvious choice to fulfil the project’s specific requirements. Aluminium was selected for its strength, corrosion resistance, and long lifespan of over 30 years, making it a perfect fit for the low-maintenance needs of the new facility.
The design, developed by the project's architects, featured a range of bespoke aluminium elements, including soffits, radius coping, radius skylights, and circular column casings. After conducting a detailed survey, all designs were sent to Aluminium Roofline Products (ARP), specialists in custom aluminium manufacturing. Reece Mooney of ARP worked closely with Joe Wheatley from County Gutters to ensure that the designs were executed to the highest standard. With meticulous attention to detail, production was completed within a four-week timeframe, and installation followed shortly after. This project highlights the versatility and durability of aluminium, reinforcing its suitability as a building material for both aesthetics and functionality in modern construction projects.
