The Story: Heritage Rainwater System Installed on Grade II Listed Building in Broadwindsor, Dorset
County Gutters is proud to have completed a rainwater system refurbishment on a stunning Grade II listed building in Broadwindsor, Dorset. The project required a sensitive and carefully planned approach to ensure the new installation complemented the historic character of the property while providing a long-lasting and effective solution. To achieve this, we installed 125mm cast aluminium gutters, paired with 76mm round cast collar aluminium rainwater pipes, all finished with traditional-style cast aluminium hopper heads. These materials were selected for their durability and ability to replicate the classic appearance of original cast iron, ensuring the building retains its period charm while benefiting from a modern, low-maintenance system.
Working on a listed building requires precision and attention to detail, ensuring all modifications align with heritage guidelines while improving the building’s functionality. The new cast aluminium rainwater system not only enhances the aesthetic appeal of the property but also provides superior performance, efficiently directing rainwater away to prevent potential structural damage. By using high-quality, weather-resistant materials, we have delivered a long-term solution that will protect this historic building for decades to come. County Gutters is delighted to have contributed to the preservation of this remarkable property, ensuring its beauty and integrity remain intact for future generations.
