St Mary’s Hospital, Paddington, London
We are contracted by the M & J Construction Group to replace all the guttering and rainwater pipes to the Mint Wing on this historic hospital in London, it is noted for the discovery of penicillin by Sir Alexander Fleming in 1928 and has close association with the Royal family for the royal births.
We are replacing the original cast iron rainwater pipes with a powder coated aluminium system, this proves particularly difficult as it runs through the stone plinths all the way down the building, the old system needed removing with care to prevent any damage to the stonework. The original gutter was smaller than the new system installed as a larger capacity is now required with more extreme weather conditions experienced more frequently. The use of powder coated aluminium means far less maintenance will be required than the original cast iron system.
