The Story: Quick and Efficient Gutter Replacement at St Luke’s Junior School, Bournemouth
County Gutters were recently contracted by Westmade Ltd to replace the ageing, failed galvanised gutter system at St Luke’s Junior School in Winton, Bournemouth. The original guttering had been in place since the school’s construction and was encased with Plastisol flashings, with a galvanised apron fixed through the roof. To replace the gutter system, all the flashings and the apron needed to be carefully removed, a task that required specialist expertise. Due to the importance of maintaining a disruption-free environment for the students, County Gutters was able to complete the entire project in just one day, ensuring minimal impact on school activities.
The new system installed was a Legion joggle-jointed box gutter with Colonnade 101mm round rainwater pipes. The gutter was finished in a mill finish, while the rainwater pipes were powder-coated in a sleek RAL 7016m anthracite colour, offering both practicality and a modern, professional appearance. All work was carried out by County Gutters' DBS-checked staff, ensuring compliance with safety and security standards for school projects during term time. This efficient, high-quality installation has provided the school with a durable and reliable gutter system to safeguard the building for many years to come.
