The Story: St Nicholas Church in Corfe Mullen Receives New Seamless Guttering System to Resolve Ongoing Drainage Issues
St Nicholas Church in Corfe Mullen, Dorset, has successfully addressed ongoing drainage and guttering issues with the installation of a new seamless aluminium system by County Gutters. The church had been struggling with the failure of its original plastic gutter system, which had led to significant flooding around the church grounds. With many downpipes blocked and water being unable to flow freely, the situation had become a serious concern. County Gutters was contacted to provide a lasting solution that would ensure the church remained dry and accessible for its parishioners and visitors.
After a detailed site survey, County Gutters designed and installed a comprehensive gutter and drainage system. The solution included a 150mm seamless aluminium ogee gutter with 76mm rainwater pipes, a more robust and durable option compared to the previous plastic system. To further enhance the drainage system, all existing downpipes were replaced with gully heads, which allow for easy removal of debris and prevent future blockages. The entire project was completed in just one week, with minimal disruption to the church’s activities, ensuring that this busy community hub could continue without interruption. The new system, made from recycled aluminium, provides a sustainable solution that is not only durable but also virtually maintenance-free, thanks to the addition of Alurex leaf guards, offering a “fit and forget” approach for years to come.
