Weston Park Primary School
The Story: Guttering Overhaul Completed at Weston Park Primary School, Southampton, Hampshire
County Gutters has successfully completed a significant guttering project at Weston Park Primary School in Southampton, Hampshire, after being awarded the contract through the local authority. With extensive experience working in schools across the South of England, County Gutters ensured minimal disruption to school activities during the installation, effectively managing the busy school schedule. The project required a tailored approach, as the specified guttering system needed to handle large volumes of rainwater from the school's expansive roof areas.
The installation featured a 200mm x 150mm box gutter on the low-level roofs, with a 150mm x 100mm box gutter on the higher-level roofs. Given that the entire upper-level roof drains onto the lower level, the larger gutter was necessary to manage the increased water flow. The rainwater pipes installed included both 76mm square and 101mm square pipes, offering ample water flow capacity for the extensive flat roof surfaces. The project involved a total of 360 linear metres of guttering and 160 linear metres of rainwater pipes, covering 12 separate roofs across the school. The Legion system was chosen for its bespoke manufacturing capabilities, flexibility in design, and large capacity options, which made it the perfect choice for such a complex project. The internal fixed Joggle Joint system ensures an easier fit compared to traditional floating joints, reducing the likelihood of future maintenance issues.
